I've been promising a friend a picture of our little owlets, so I thought I might as well post it here. All of this owl craziness was started by two things: Doodle Stitching (a very fun beginning embroidery book, thanks to which I can finally do a french knot!) and the Harry Potter party we hosted after Halloween. My lovely and talented sister Rachel did almost everything for the party. I did owls...and I didn't even really do those. Sofia made a posse of very accurate owls. She had an eagle owl, snowy owl, burrowing owl, barn owl, and many others. I (very slowly) made my little embroidered owlets...and not in time for said party. I think I've made about 15 now. Who gets carried away with projects?
Sofia is my creative consultant. We have a whole bunch of cute seasonal owlets planned, but I'm on hiatus from the owls while I finish some of my Christmas presents.
A funny note on the "soft focus" photo. Little James had been playing with my camera (unbeknownst to me) and after I retrieved it, nothing seemed to work right. I just couldn't get any pictures focused properly. Lucky for me, my wonderful (and smarter than me) husband is home. He discovered my camera was suffering from a fingerprint overdose on the lens. Wonderful. Everything is cleaned and in working order again; alas, I am too lazy to take a new picture.
Those owlets are sooo cute! Sorry, but I have to LOL at your mysterious camera woes, if only because that SAME THING happens around here regularly! I'm always having to clean off my lens. Funny thing is, the boys KNOW they'll get in trouble if they touch the camera, yet when they do they take silly pictures of each other, thus leaving plenty of evidence on the memory card!
