Duuh Dum Dum Dum

James has been humming a wedding march all day. I thought it was odd until I realized there was an almost-wedding in Monsters Vs. Aliens.

I made a whole bunch of these for my Mary Kay party today. There was a cuter one, made from scraps of the girls' curtains, but Kirsten chose it....thus, no photo.

Anyhow, it's a good thing my neighbor noticed the May Kay vehicle in my driveway: otherwise, I would have had NOBODY at my party. Thanks guys.

Really, my house is clean and I'm wearing makeup - what do I have to complain about. (It sounds like my husband's lucky day, nicht?) Tony told me not to worry - he's my friend, and he bought me a vanilla coke to prove it.

  1. ohhhhhhhh I'm sorry, Lia!!! I totally would have gone if I didn't hate Mary Kay with such a passion. To defend myself: I was never formally invited ;). but really I hate the KAY:
I had a Mary Kay lady come up to me in a grocery store and say...."oh you really look like you could use a makeover. I could fix you right up." Rudest thing ever right?!?!

  3. just about anyone who will show up at my door with a vanilla diet coke (I'll even accept it with ice!) can be my friend!

  4. Sorry, Lia, just not a make-up person.

    Love the wedding march thing.

  5. Sorry I couldn't make it today! It was crazy busy and I can't leave those things without spending money, and I'm all stocked up on makeup right now, so I knew I better stay away.

Your makeup bag is beyond darling!

  6. I'm sorry too. I was also accosted in a grocery store this year (it happened last year too - definitely the ultimate insult) and I caved. It was the 2nd MK party I've "thrown" and the 2nd MK party with only me and 1 guest. Besides today being a horribly busy day, I just couldn't bring myself to get made up and then say no. I'm glad Tony is reaping the benefits! And super cute bag, btw!!

  7. I love Mary Kay! Sadly, it doesn't love me. Last time I had a makeover, I woke up the next day with a bright red rash on my face and neck! I thought the tingly sensation when you are "masking" was a good thing. I really want to crochet with you though! Call me. :)

  10. Mom, I don't hate Mary Kay. I do hate no one coming to my parties. ...and since you wouldn't have come anyhow, you don't get a bag. :P

  12. I love Mary Kay, but I'm in the middle of layout, and it seemed like a long drive for a MK party (I am still sad about missing your sewing party, though).
