I think we're finally down to a dish of peanutbutter fudge...but it was a lot of work getting there. Along the way, we did discover that rhubarb pie and panna cotta taste darned good together. It's a totally valid substitute for vanilla ice cream.
..so I guess the calories weren't wasted.
Hi Annalia - I've been lurking about on your blog - love reading what you guys are up to! Maybe we will see you when you get to Maryland!

oh yummy please bring the peanut butter fudge this week-end! I'll be glad to help you out! Good mother that I am.
ReplyDeleteIs panna cotta kind of like Italian flan? That's what the wikepedia article made it sound like. But your picture looks much much yummier.
ReplyDeleteBeth: It is a custard, like flan, but without eggs...and with vanilla beans, so it has a very different flavor and texture than flan.
ReplyDelete...and I'm surprised you thought mine looked nice, since I just scooped it unceremoniously out of its dish. :)
ReplyDeleteThe wiki pictures looked totally like flan. Something about the gelatinous molds look really unappetizing to me. Yours looks very custardy and creamy. Much nicer to my non-flan loving diet.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh- please send me the recipe for the panna cotta...ill love you forever!
