...I gave him this...
Hmmm...blingy ring vs. sappy homemadeness? I have to admit that he won this round, but I still love him, because:
he pretended to like my present
he knows all of my secrets
he has started editing his work stories (in deference to me not wanting to hear anything gross)
he is understanding and kind and patient and loving and considerate (to me :)
...I am so dang lucky I married him (and, trust me, luck was a key ingredient to finding my perfect someone)!
To celebrate, we went searching for a new somewhere to eat. I really thought I'd never again want to eat anywhere but my favorite taco truck. Wrong. We went to Rockville town center and found a Spanish tapas place. Oh, man, I'm hooked.
...and how'd they know we were going to movie afterwards?
Every dish was delish.
Fried eggplant with yummy cheese sauce.
dates, stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon
flank steak and mushrooms
spinach with pine nuts and raisins
pork sirloin (also wrapped in bacon! I know, it's culinary cheating.)
....and...
chicken croquettes with garlic mayo
And then rice pudding with cinnamon and caramelized sugar on top.
A stroke of genius, they had Top Chef playing on their TV. Those shows always make you so dang hungry. Restaurants should be the only place you're allowed to watch them!
Then, of course, we went and saw Eclipse. (And ditched Sofia in honor of our anniversary. She was such a sport about it!) The movie made me think how that courtship drama was all fun and exciting, but...I sure don't miss it. Being happy and together is so much better.
Happy Anniversary you two! You did catch a good one Lia. Boy, your dinner made me hungry, what a spred... Love the ring and one of your girls will love it someday too. love to you both! mom
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and so yummy! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteOooh! What a pretty ring! Maybe he can drop some hints to David. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI still remember when you two got engaged and we were all blindsided. You're marrying who? After you had been dating for a matter of weeks? At least that's how I remember it. And then I remember driving to your wedding and then driving back to Provo in the snow and it was scarey! Ack! Such fun memories.
Glad you guys got out and had a good evening. Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary! You do have a Prince there and I think the best part is he treats you like a queen. Hope you have the best year ever. Miss you all!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! If I remember correctly, we went on a double date and Tony was my blind date. He couldn't keep his eyes off of you. Who can blame him? You're Wonder Woman!
ReplyDeleteAnd I kinda want to hop on a plane and go out to eat at that place. It sounds awesome!
Lucky you! My husband spent our 15th at scout camp.
ReplyDeleteOh and I love your present to Tony! It's darling!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 15 years!
