Eat Beer, You Stinkin' Slugs!

There aren't very many down sides to living in the Pacific Northwest, but slugs are one of them!


They ate every one of my petunias down to a totally unrecognizable stub. Sad.

Lucky for me, they're alcoholics.

    Sorry to hear your petunias are dead. I hope all the slugs drink themselves to death and you can grow some new ones.

    Dumb slugs! My kids are always fascinated by the slugs when we visit my parents.

    My comment just got deleted on accident. grrr. Anyway, I've heard coffee grounds also work to keep them away. I haven't been able to make myself buy beer or coffee yet - but seeing as I found a couple of similar petunias in my yard I think I will be soon.

    Courtney: My lovely neighbor donated the beer (left over from her F-I-L's visit). ...but, seeing how well it works, that is a totally valid reason to buy alcohol!

    ...now maybe I can bum some coffee grounds off of my sister...
