I re-hemmed, took in the bodice, and yes, removed the cuffs, cut two inches off the sleeves and then sewed the cuffs back on. You can't even tell (except that they don't hang down over her hands now). ...Ninja!
Everything was washed, pressed and perfect for the Pacific Northwest Feis (pronounced FESH - like fresh without the "r") this morning.
...though Sofi still has a little bit of dress envy going on. You have to be a novice to get that novice dress!
Still, I think there's something in that bag that's making her happy...
...two second-place medals (in the Light Jig and the Slip Jig)!
Wow, congrates Sofie!! You did a great job Lia, re doing anything is a giant leap! Hey, thanks SO much for sending my camara, and it is a great camara, I hope to have it for a long time.Love you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Sofi!! Nice job on the dress, Lia.
ReplyDeleteGood Job Sofi and sewing Ninja! Are the girls doing some performances for St. Patty's day?
ReplyDeleteMom: My pleasure (camera). Glad it made it safely.
ReplyDeleteBeth: Maybe....in MEXICO. I can't believe our family reunion is interfering with St.Patty's Day! Don't people consider important holidays when planning things like that? J/K! They could have a performance on a Sunday in May (Viking Fest in Poulsbo). I haven't signed them up for it yet, but if you guys want to come, I will. :)
Sofia looks so happy in those pictures! So cute. And I knew you were a sewing ninja long before you altered that dress. It looks fab!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing...and congrats to Sofia for the two medals! Wahoo!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Sofia! Awesome ninja skills! Those cuffs and sleeves look intimidating to me! You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteThat would be totally fun! Who wouldn't want to break the Sabbath for a bunch of Vikings? And maybe spend some extra time with you and the Hooligans while we still have the chance.
ReplyDeleteI always knew you had mad sewing skilz. Congrats to Sofi!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see her so happy. It seems like when they become a teenager, they smile less. Or at least that's what I am afraid of. Glad to see there is still hope! :)
ReplyDeleteHooray Sofi!
ReplyDeleteAnd yippee for you and your wacky Ninja Sewing moves! :-)
