So, Grandin Cottage (Tony thinks this name isn't specific enough - since it could really apply to every house on the street...and implies that there is a Grandin Manor House somewhere on the property) has a much smaller kitchen. Not a problem. The current owner has some lovely sideboards to compensate for the lack of ample cabinet/counter space...

...and we thought it might be a good idea to do the same.

Ok, so mine isn't quite as nice. But it
was quite cheap. I'm thinking about painting it; however, I'm worried about my inability to commit to a color scheme. ...and I feel a little guilty painting real wood. Maybe just a new finish and some different hardware?
I like the new finish and hardware idea. I have trouble painting real wood too. It looks nice!
ReplyDeletepaint it! I love it...goodwill??
ReplyDeleteI think it's gorgeous. Once you fix it up, it will be perfect! You're a genius, after all. I think I've mentioned that before.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind it as is, really. A new finish would be fun, but you'd have to completely strip off the old finish, which is a real time sink. That's why so many people paint, because all you have to do is sand it a bit.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how you decorate your new place. :o)
I think it'll be beautiful either way. I don't think I'd paint it...I don't buy nice wood items unless I like them unpainted (because I feel bad painting them).
