We got to attend Jonny's pinewood derby last Saturday.
The boys are always so excited to make and race their cars!
Sofia (the one hiding from my camera...unlike Anthony, who's always trying to photo bomb) had a friend spend the night the evening before. Oddly enough, her friend was super excited to come with us to the cub scout derby (maybe because she's brotherless).
She's sweet, so it was fun to have her along.
We have a long-standing pinewood derby tradition in our family. It mainly involves losing.
Jonny took it to the next level.
In his first race, his car almost made it across the finish line.
(Yep. That's not a live action shot. Where the car is in the photo - that's where it stopped.)
I suspect there were some real tears in the corners of his eyes in this pose-y sad face.
...but when I told him he didn't look sad enough and needed to crank it up a notch...he cheered right up.
A couple of high-fives for losing (plus a doughnut), and all was right in the Romero world.
wish I could have been there :)
ReplyDeleteI think for every time Sofie hides from the camera you should take a photo of her in her sleep as punishment, possibly after the addition of makeup or a few props. I'm glad everyone had a great time at the pinewood derby,
ReplyDeleteJon's car looked really cool, who cares if it made it across the line :)
