I found a cute, rustic cradle at Goodwill the other day (for a slightly more than a quarter), and I can just picture Cozette tucking her stuffies in it not too long from now. ...and to do that, she NEEDS some doll quilts, right?
Since then, I've been moderately obsessed with doll quilts...planning them as I go to sleep at night...forcing my super-indulgent friends to make them with me...and I've still only finished one? Really?
The older girls have already used it to tuck their stuffies into Cozy's cradle.
This was my first applique attempt; the embroidery says, "rest in your nest".
The next most-likely-to-be-finished doll quilts are:
...this rosy idea of mine. Tiny "sweet" (from Moda) roses and giant pop garden roses (from Heather Bailey).
...and this bright, scrappy creation.
I can't wait to finish them - just as soon as Cozette's teething angst subsides.
these projects look very cute!
ReplyDeleteI'll try to remember to post a picture of the patchwork zipper pouch I'm making...You're such and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI was reading this post and thinking of how incredibly sad it is that we don't live close enough to get together and indulge in each other's crazy hairbrained quilting and crafting projects. And then I thought again and realized that for our husbands' sake, it's probably for the best. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWish I could make some doll quilts!!
Have I mentioned that you are a genius? And when do you do all this? Aren't your kids home all the time? You're my hero.
ReplyDeleteOOO! I can't wait to see the finished projects! The bright one is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI remember fondly the Christmas when my dad built coordinating doll cradles for my sister and me, and my mom provided each with a quilt and an afghan. It is just the sort of thing I would do, were I privileged to have girls. *sigh* But at least one of my boys likes owls -- did you make those, too?
