Un-updating

Tony had his finals last week...and more than passed this time. :) Next week they have a field trip, military bonding thing, so this week they don't have class at all. Yeah! My secret honey-do list has been building up. (I try not to overwhelm the hubby with a big list of house things I want him to do. I try to wait until he actually asks me if there's anything around the house I'd like him to take care of. Try. BTW, the same strategy does not work for teenagers.)

Here's one thing that has been bothering me:

I'm a short person, so I've never actually hit my head on this light...but I still would duck every time I walked under it. (Our ceilings are not high enough for dangling lights!)

Also, it didn't work...at least not reliably. Every once in a while it would flicker on...and then off again. The connection had just come loose.

Don't laugh, but I wanted a sort of grannyish fixture to match my old-fashioned house. I was too lazy to scour Maryland for a vintage fixture, so I picked this white, cut-glass fixture at Home Depot.

I love it. Not only does it work, I don't feel like it's going to fall on my head every time I walk past.

Also, Cozy has been insisting on climbing "in my pocket" a couple times a week. So endearing! It helps make up for the other "two-ish" things she does....like throw herself on the floor and yell, "I just hate you a little bit!" Ten lashes for whoever taught her that one!
