...that's what the newest toy at our house says, as the kids type along at break-neck speeds. Actually, it's hunt and peck, but this garage sale find has been the center of a new game at our house. Pokemon court. The following is a "court document" that I found laying around the house.
"mr.jo anathan we gat er here this day to talk about the crime of stealing tabasco sauce. the jury call hoot to the stand. hoot, lease describe the theft. w hoo hoo, hoo, hoo th jury calls azelf to the stand.as azel laa a, laa rainbows. laa, laala a butterflies.the jury calls rexy to the stand. rooar, roar, roar. i nn other words..im not guilty hahahaha i win. 6/12/09hi."
Some of those typing errors are not their fault. Type writers are totally unforgiving. If you don't press pretty hard on the keys, you get nothing! Still, I love to listen to the clickety-clack of the court proceedings, with every line punctuated by a - DING!
Anyone know where to buy typewriter tape?
ebay? Very CLever kiddos!
ReplyDeleteI was told to look online....I'm green with envy. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome find!
ReplyDeleteThat *is* a wonderful sound, but when I look back to my college days, I can't help but think how much more sleep I could have had if only it were the days of word processors.
ReplyDeleteOh, fun! I love that sound too. There's a great song by Lovin' Spoonful that has the sound of a typewriter in it. Actually, it's probably a tabulation machine or whatever, since the song is "Money," but it's the same song.
ReplyDeleteSuper fun! I can remember playing office at my granparent's house with my sister. We loved the old typewriter! We also used to make pretend checks so that we could write them out to "pay" for things. Good memories! I bet your kids will be glad when they're older that you blogged this.
