This is the part I don't like about travelling - the actual travelling. It's a day full of unpleasant deadlines. Pack bag by 9am. Check out by 10am. Return car at 11am. Board plane at 1:40pm. Board shuttle at 11:30pm. It's a long day of doing nothing at all. Tony was awesome and skipped out of work to take me to the airport. I sat by a Japanese-American Mormon on the flight home. We discussed, among other things, cultural differences in breakfast food and the Japanese economy.
It was a nice trip, but I can't wait until Tony is back for a while, and I can enjoy my husband in the comfort of my own home!
Rachel had the house clean when I got home, and she did all of the digging for my path (which is totally NOT the fun part). I owe her big time. The kids say Aunt Rachel is the adventure queen. How am I going to live up to their new expectations? Maybe we can do an occasional explor-a-day, but I don't think I have Rachel energy for daily outings.
We'd love to come have an adventure with you sometime. Maybe walk on the ferry and hang out with you guys? Hawaii looks like it might not be too bad. At least there's good food.
ReplyDeleteWho is Rachel and what super-woman planet did she come from??!! Seriously! She sounds amazing! Glad you had a good time and didn't come home to chaos!
ReplyDeleteShe's my little sister. Someone has suggested that all of that energy has to so with being in your twenties, but I don't know...? She is amazing.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you made it back safely. When does your husband return?
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun this morning to read up on your trip to Hawaii. What awesome thrift store finds. Sweet potato ice cream? No thanks, I'll pass.
ReplyDeleteCozette has so much hair! What a cutie!
I just caught up on your blog--evidently I haven't had any time for the duration of your vacation. It really sounds great--though I know what you mean about wishing you had your little loved ones with you to enjoy things. But there is something to be said for babymoons, so I'm glad that you and Cozette got some quality time together.
ReplyDeleteAlso, seriously, I'm a TAD jealous that your husband smiles affectionately at you. I love my HH incredibly, but he's not usually affectionate & SOMETIMES I wish otherwise :)
