So, last night I stayed home with sad Boo and tired Cozy, while Tony took the other kids to a double feature of Gulliver's Travels and Yogi Bear. I totally got the better end of that deal! Both kids were sound asleep by 8 o'clock. The house was so quiet!
I made some cookies, folded some laundry....and then thought I'd look around for an unfinished project to wrap up. A curtain for the boy's room. I've had this fabric for at least a year - I think I just had funner, more challenging projects keeping me from it.
I put in a pole pocket, even though I planned to use the clippy drapery rings (easier for kids to slide open and closed).
...because you never know what you might want in your next house...on some other window....in Maryland. Yes, Tony has crushed my midwestern dreams.
I'm coming to terms. It helps that it is by far the best deal $-wise. I'm hoping there is something there for me, that I can love and enjoy (aside from the people I'll be bringing with me, of course!)
Sarah, as far as the camera goes, here is an inside action photo with no flash. ....at least you can tell who they are, right?
Little sisters - even cuter than puppies.
Cute fabric! Poor Boo! I hope he's feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteMaryland! I've never been there, but it sounds like a nice place. When is the big move happening? We'll have to chat soon so I can hear all the details.
Cute curtain. Baltimore has an amazing aquarium right by the beautiful harbor. A friend and I rode a pedal boat right next to Old Ironsides. I'm sure you'll have some wonderful experiences in Maryland. So much history within a day's drive!
ReplyDeleteMaryland is close enough that I can finally meet you in person!!! :) Road trip! And I second field trips in D.C. We make it down there a couple times a year and love all the museums, etc.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Maryland! Which part are you going to?
ReplyDeleteI love that fabric! Doesn't it feel good to finish that kind of thing?!!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have folded the laundry myself.
ReplyDeleteYay, just a couple hours away!
I remember when you picked out that fabric! It has most definitely been a year. Which school in Maryland has Tony decided on?
ReplyDeleteT: DC Metro. Where did you grow up?
ReplyDeleteJenny: Please come visit us! That would be wonderful...and we plan to be right near a metro line for field trips. (Maybe you can show us around a little. :)
Jess: Laundry (when you aren't trying to do three other things at the same time and no one is TALKING TO YOU) can be pretty relaxing.
Beth: Something Herbert Something Something School of Uniformed Services Miltary Health Something. I honestly cannot remember the stupid long name and am too lazy to look it up. (No doubt I'll learn it sometime in the next 4 years.) Anyhooo...it's the one he applied to last year...and go wait-listed. So, the one he originally wanted to attend.
Tony say it's the "F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences". Commonly known as USUHS.
ReplyDeleteHow could you forget that? And what kind of sewing machine do you have? I'm breaking down and buying myself a big girl machine.
ReplyDeleteBeth: I'll give you the same advice Grandma Cozy gave me - "If you want to spend less than a thousand dollars, get a Kenmore." :)
