Foxy

Meet my new friend....

Someone sweetly suggested I make her one of these fox bags.

It looked pretty simple (and adorable), so I thought I'd try it. We actually get to see red foxes in our backyard (if we wake up early enough) occasionally. ...and, like all things woodland, love them!

I ordered some real wool felt for this project. It's amazing! Such a wonderful texture (unlike the yucky acrylic kind)! If I had only know, I would probably have ordered a ton more.

Halfway through putting foxy's mouth on, he started looking lonesome...

...so I made him a pink-cheeked friend to cheer him up.

He went together just like any other zippered pouch. You just have to remember to stick the ears in when you sew the felt to the zipper...

...and stick the tail in when you sew the outside and the lining together.

Lined with cutey-cute toadstools from Joanns.

I'm happy I made two; otherwise I might not be able to part with this one...

Now I need some more wool felt, so I can try a deer and a skunk! :)

  1. I think I feel famous for being such a key player in this post...but I don't know, since I'm just "someone." LOL.
SO SO CUTE! And I'm jealous that you get to see them in your yard! I think foxes are beautiful (maybe that's why being "foxy" is a good thing....)

  3. He's so cute! And you are so right about wool felt. I was converted over Christmas when I made Lucy's tea set. I'm never going back to acrylic (just don't remind me how much cheaper it is)!

  7. You are so very awesome!! Got my package and LOVED everything. The coasters are GREAT. I had a good laugh about the wire-- HH appreciated it ;) That was so thoughtful and unexpected! I'll probably do a proper blog posting about your fabulousness, but I have to take a picture first...so it might be a few days because I'm lazy.
