To "celebrate", we went to Patty's Egg Nest for brunch. Yum - swedish pancakes! The birthday boy opted for fried prawns - bleh. For breakfast? Whatever makes them happy, right?
Then, on our way home, we went Troll hunting. Anthony bagged a big one (also the only one I know of in Seattle).
...and he completed the age-old manhood ritual of retrieving a troll bogie.
You got me, it's actually a large cement troll sculpture under the Fremont bridge, and to find it I had to drive around using my "I think it's somewhere on the left up here" navigating skillz. (Drives Tony crazy - good thing he was out of town. :)
The kids had fun climbing around, getting really dirty and blocking everyone else's photo ops. Good fun. Eventually we left so that a couple of nice Germans on motorcycles and a group of Japanese exchange students could take their pictures with the troll.
Ok, everyone, look scared - like you're about to be eaten.
Happy birthday, Odie!
Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteAh, yes. The troll. I totally forgot about taking the kids there. I knew I was forgetting something. Good thing they're not reading this over my shoulder or they'll remember about wanting to go there and it will be all over....
That troll is kind of tricky to find! There were a bunch of Japanese exchange students when we went too. Did they get pictures with your kids as well? Happy bday Anthony! look for something in the mail late next week (we are so behind)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Anthony!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your teenager!!!
ReplyDeleteThat troll is freakishly *wonderful*! What a fun birthday celebration :-)
Lia! I'm so glad you navigate that way, too. Ya know, I think life is more adventurous and fun that way anywho...all the great things discovered along the way!
