Rework #5 - Gray Floral

It is so fun to take this: two shirts that don't fit anymore and aren't cut in a very current way...but are made out of soft, pretty fabrics....

...and make them into this: adorable gray tunic top with matching leggings. The joy!

It also means I get to "make" a shirt with sweet details like buttons, without having to sew a single buttonhole.

I can keep all of the details I loved about a piece...

...like lace edging on the cuffs...even the cuffs themselves...

...and just move them around a bit.

Even the decorative hem on the leggings is borrowed from the shirt they used to be!

I've been getting a little hassle around here for some inequality in sewing. Sofia very cutely asked me why I never make her leggings out of my old shirts. I don't thing she thought that one through. She's nearly my size...and I don't think she would wear patchwork leggings. :)

  2. I love this latest creation you dreamed up. I am soooo impressed and can't wait to see it in person. Also, I'm thinking of all the things I recently got rid of. I still have way tooo much "stuff"....
Cozy must be the best dressed little one around.
